Q: What temperature should my heater turn on?

A: The thermostat is set at 43°F from the factory it has a +/- 3 degree tolerance on it so it will turn on between 43 and 46 automatically.

Q: How does it get power and what power source do I use?

A: The heater runs on normal 115V power source and 20 foot power cord with prong plug easily reaches from heater mounting point to circuit protected outlet inside cabin.

Q: I put heater in the freezer or outside to test it and it is not turning on?

A: Leave heater in a stable environment for 30 to 45 minutes it will come on .It may take this long for the metal to cool to ambient temperature.

Q: Is it ok to set my heater on the floor and not put in the screws?

A: Some of our customers take the heaters in and out of there boats if you want to do this please make sure it won't fall into any water or moving parts of the motor.

Q: Can I mount this to the hatch on my motor compartment?

A: Any of the heaters we have available can be mounted at ANY angle (upside down, sideways, etc.).

Q: How long does it take to get hot?

A: Our heaters should blow warm air within 30 seconds of turning on.

Q: How long will the heaters last me?

A: The Xtreme heater is built to last the lifetime of the boat.

Q: How big is the heater?

A: Heater dimensions (L x W x H) for small are 6" x 4" x 5 1/8", for medium and large are 8" x 4" x 5 1/8"

Q: Is this heater safe to be in the engine compartment near gas?

A: Xtreme is the only heater on the market today that is certified ignition protected by the ABYC. We built the Xtreme extra safe; everything is completely sealed away from outside environments.

Q: How do I install my heater?

A: There are mounting screws in the box with the heater. Screw down heater above the water line. Boats with a stern drive we would like to see the heater mounted towards the back of the compartment blowing to the out drive and the back of the motor .Boats with V Drives please blow the exhaust towards the transmissions.

Q: How do I test to see if my heater is working?

A: There is a thermostat on the air inlet side of the heater if you spray freeze spray on it for 4 seconds it will turn the heater on and you should see the power LED light up.
